Knicks SG Damyean Dotson underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, SNY's Ian Begley confirmed on Wednesday.
Before he underwent surgery, the expectation was that Dotson would be sidelined for roughly two months due to the shoulder ailment, per sources. Dotson is not expected to miss time next year and the belief is he'll be ready for the start of training camp, as The Athletic reports.
Head coach David Fizdale is leading the Knicks' rebuilding process, and his development of his young core was seen through Dotson among others this season. He gave him 27.5 minutes per game on the hardwood compared to 10.8 in his rookie season, and it paid off.
