Giants? offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride addressed the media Thursday to discuss the offensive game plan heading into the Week 8 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

The game will be a rematch of the Giants? 24-17 opening night loss, and Gilbride expects the team to play better football this time around.

?I think we?re a little healthier,? Gilbride said. ?I think we can play better.?I think we played better as the game went on; unfortunately we got started slowly. I think they?re very good. I think they have an outstanding pass rush; they went out and spent a lot of money to get two terrific corners.?

The Giants and Cowboys are set to face off in their second showdown of the season on Sunday.

For the G-Men, it's a chance to get revenge for Jerry Jones' comments following his Cowboys' win in the season opener and extend their lead in the NFC East. A win would situate Big Blue at 6-2 and potentially three games better than the runner-up.

For the Boys, it's an opportunity to sweep the series against New York for the first time since 2007 and make ground on the division-leading Giants. Both Dallas and Philadelphia are sitting at 3-3, with the Eagles facing a tough one vs. Atlanta.

The Giants have had the benefit in their recent history of developing extremely talented defensive ends. Even when it seemed the team had a surplus along the D-line, General Manager Jerry Reese continued to strengthen the team?s main strength.

Reese drafted Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Matthias Kiwanuka and Jason Pierre-Paul, all of whom have been productive NFL players.

But it seems that to start this season, the Giants defensive front just can?t muster a consistent attack against opposing quarterbacks.

1. Tony Romo

The Cowboys' offensive line has been criticized this year, but Tony Romo has only been sacked 7 times, third least in the NFL. ?Much of the reason for this is Romo's elusiveness. ?Opposing defensive lines have done a good job getting pressure, but Romo has been able to avoid the sack due to his mobility. ?However, under pressure, Romo has been known to make the occasional poor decision. ?The Giants defensive line has been piling up the sacks recently, but they do not need to wrap up the quarterback to be effective. ?The Giants need to continually pressure Romo and force him into throwing picks. ?In the Cowboys' last three losses, Romo has seven interceptions; in their one win, he did not turn over the ball.
