First-year Knicks coach Derek Fisher has filed for divorce from his wife, Candace (AP, March 18).

The couple has been married 10 years. They have three children, including twins Tatum and Drew. Tatum was treated for a form of eye cancer in 2007 while Fisher was playing for Utah. Fisher played 18 seasons in the NBA, winning five titles with the Lakers.

Fisher, who filed papers in Los Angeles Wednesday, issued a statement. "This is a difficult time for me personally. For the sake of our children, I ask that everyone respects our privacy during this process."

With the Knicks struggling under rookie head coach Derek Fisher, will Phil Jackson seek out recently fired Brian Shaw to join their?staff? (Berman, March 4)

Shaw was fired Tuesday night after serving as the head coach of the Denver Nuggets for less than two seasons. He led the Nuggets to a 36-46 record last season and 20-39 this year.

It was believed that Jackson preferred Shaw over Fisher in his pursuit for a head coach last off season. But Denver was unwilling to let Shaw walk at the time.

Derek Fisher might be running out of ways to stay positive as the Knicks fell to 12-47 on the season after being steamrolled by the Kings Tuesday night (Post, March 3).

?It was definitely not the level of character and integrity this group has been showing in recent weeks,?? Fisher said. ?That was the most disappointing part. It?s not necessarily losing the game but just the way as a group, we couldn?t find a way to compete.??

None of the Knicks starters hit double figures and they trailed the Kings by as many as 44 points late in the third period. Fisher said this energy was similar to what he saw from them in practice on Monday - which isn't exactly a good thing.

By falling to the Raptors on Friday night in Montreal, the Knicks concluded their preseason with a 3-4 record. As first-year coach Derek Fisher readies his rotation for Wednesday's season opener at the Garden against Chicago and attempts to right the ship this season, there are still plenty of question marks surrounding this team.

Learning new things about his team with each and every game this past month, Fisher has undoubtedly pondered many things and witnessed a varied number of recurring themes throughout the preseason. Continuously evident in Friday night's game, here are some of those very questions/themes:

Backup point guard:?With Jose Calderon sidelined with an injury, Shane Larkin received his second start of the preseason Friday. Though he's young and has all the potential in the world, Larkin is seemingly playing himself out of the backup spot. He doesn't have the refined instincts necessary to run a team just yet, and lacks the court vision to do so. Larkin acts before he thinks, often running into traffic without anywhere to go or anyone to pass to. A key turnover as he was running upcourt late in Friday's game led to the loss.

The Knicks' 2014-15 season begins in less than two weeks, which means there isn't much time left for coach Derek Fisher to figure out his opening night starting lineup and overall rotation.

Carmelo Anthony, Jose Calderon, and Samuel Dalembert are assumed starters, if only by default. Based on his positive play this preseason (and incumbent?starting two-guard), one could make a strong case for Iman Shumpert to slip into the starting lineup as well.

The one position that's still left wide open is power forward. Perhaps rightfully so, because as much talent as there is at the position, there's probably just as many question marks surrounding it as well.
