Henrik Tallinder was placed on injured reserve-- retroactive to March 7.
Forward Harri Pesonen was recalled from Albany and will wear No. 16.
Still, Rich Chere reported some very good news for Devils fans yesterday, when he tweeted that Tallinder did not have a blood clot in his leg.
Devils fans have been ruthless on Henrik-- his play has warranted that. But face it, the Devils need him on the blue line. He's supposed to be on of the Devils' top-four "D" when healthy. The problem is... well... he hasn't been healthy.
Still, if his legs are hurting, it's good to know he isn't likely to miss 30-plus games as he did last year. It's possible this nagging injury has adversely affected his play, so get him healthy and get him back. He will be eligible to come off IR on Thursday-- though I'm sure this injury will keep him out longer.
Plus, Henrik is a human being too-- he actually seems like he's a pretty nice guy.. You have to root for guys like that.
