The New Jersey Devils face the Washington Capitals on the road Saturday at 7 p.m.

- The Capitals beat the Devils, 3-2, in a shootout on February 6 to extend their win streak versus New Jersey to five games. Washington has not won six or more consecutive games versus New Jersey since winning eight in a row versus the Devils from November 30, 1985 -- December 9, 1986.
- The Capitals beat the Islanders, 3-2, on the road on Thursday night and are now 15-3-3 (.786) in games decided by one goal, the second-best record in games decided by a single goal in the NHL (St. Louis is 17-2-5, .813).
- Alex Ovechkin had two goals on Thursday, his sixth multi-goal game of the season (tied with Dallas' Tyler Seguin for the most in the NHL entering the weekend). Ovechkin has totaled 106 multi-goal games over his career.
- Justin Williams had a goal and an assist on Thursday night, giving him 41 points on the season (matching his 2014-15 season-total). Williams, who now sits one goal shy of 20 on the season, has not recorded 20 goals in a season since totaling 22 in 2011-12.
