The Giants were not awarded compensatory selections this season.
The NFL rules for compensatory draft selections: A team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks. The number of picks a team receives equals the net loss of compensatory free agents up to a maximum of four.
Last year, the Giants apparently came out ahead in free agency, signing CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, OL Geoff Schwartz, RB Rashad Jennings, DE Robert Ayers, CB Walter Thurmond, CB Zack Bowman, OL Charles Brown, OL John Jerry, KR Trindon Holliday, S Quintin Demps while losing DT Linval Joseph, TE Brandon Myers, S Ryan Mundy, LB Keith Rivers, DE Justin Tuck, WR Hakeem Nicks, OL Kevin Boothe, RB Andre Brown, TE Bear Pascoe and WR Louis Murphy.
