To say that both still have much to prove, even though their numbers are impressive, is an understatement. Eli needs to show the world he can still win the big game for the Blue. Romo has to show that he can do it, period.
In any event, you must admit both of them are fun to watch. This season, Eli's 2011 fourth quarter QB rating of 120.5 is the league's best. Romo has a career fourth quarter QB rating of 100.4, the best among active NFL QBs. Don't turn this game off, because it will come down to the final seconds.
When Romo is is good the Cowboys usually win. That's been the case when he plays the Giants (4-3 record, 1,651 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and seven INTs) but in general he's been erratic. One month up, one month down:
It's December, so the Giants may be catching Bad Tony in these crucial two games.
The Cowboys are 4-point favorites in this ballgame. They are going up against a lot of history tonight. They are not a great Sunday night team (20-21 overall, 7-10 at home) and they have not been covering the spread against their division rivals as of late (1-4 in their last five and 5-14 in their last 19 overall in December).
The Giants are also 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. NFC East and are 2-6-1 ATS vs a team with a winning record.
