The NFL is a shootout league. You either score or die. Right now, the Packers, Patriots and Saints are hard to beat because they own three of the four elite QBs in the NFL.
The Giants just happen to own the fourth.
Eli Manning threw for 400 yards on the button and eclipsed 4,000 passing yards for third consecutive season. He is fourth behind Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in that department. It is the first time in NFL history that four QBs have thrown for 4,000 yards or better after 14 weeks.
Manning was unflappable last night. He gave as gutty a performance as a QB could give in front of the whole world. No more garbage about this kid not being a top QB in this league. This website - or any Giant fan for that matter - should not stand for it.
Brandon Jacobs rushed for 101 yards and two TDs, breaking Tiki Barber's franchise mark for rushing TDs at 56. He got the call when Ahmad Bradshaw got benched for the first half as punishment for violating team rules. Jacobs was Jacobs last night, and when that happens - look out world....
Hakeem Nicks had 154 yards receiving putting him over 1,000 yards for the second year in a row. He had over 100 yards in the first quarter alone. He is a special player. A masterful first round selection by Jerry Reese.
Jason Pierre-Paul had two more sacks last night, including a safety. He also blocked the potential game-tying FG in the final seconds. Another masterful first round pick by Reese.
Tom Coughlin smiled. So did we. Being in first place after all that's happened? We'll take this and run like thieves in the night.
