It's Morning in AmericaThe past 135 days will permanently be erased from my memory should the players agree to the new CBA terms today.
What a horror this has been. This lockout has drained me -and the rest of the guys here- more than any regular season ever has. If I never see Jeff Pash and DeMaurice Smith again it would be too soon.
I feel as if I'm in one of those contrived movie scripts where at the end it all turns out to be a dream - or a nightmare. Well, now its over. Let's put it all behind us and get back to what we do best: talking Giants football.
Yesterday, the guys churned out some great pieces. I know it was a Sunday in the summer, but still check them out below....
As far as when the team will be asked to report, it is still unclear. It could be as early as Wednesday or as late as Saturday. Either way, it will be hectic. TIMEX will be a zoo, and as I reported earlier this summer, don't be surprised if fans are limited or excluded from access to much of training camp.
There just isn't enough space. Plus, there is too much work to be done for the team to be distracted. This may seem like a selfish move by the team, but logistics are forcing these decisions.
There is nothing more the Giants would like to do right now than re-connect with their fans. They may open the stadium for some workouts, but that severely reduces the familial flavor associated with training camp. Fans want to be close to the action.
The next week should be action-packed, though. These details will shake out little by little. The short free agency window is making hardcore fans shudder. Exciting times are ahead.
The nightmare is finally over.
