The Lions have as many - if not more - key injuries as the Giants have but according to Tom Coughlin, that doesn't mean they are any less dangerous. The Lions have lost their last 23 road games, but have played well enough to win in many of them. The Giants want to assure that Detroit does not end this infamous schneid at their expense.
The secondary is preparing as if Johnson will play as well as QB Shaun Hill, who has been effective in place of the injured Matthew Stafford. In addition to Johnson, the Lions have two very effective TEs - Tony Scheffler and Bradon Pettigrew.

RB Jahvid Best, the Lions' rookie breakaway threat, leads NFL rookies with 495 scrimmage yards (241 rushing) and has 5 TDs. He did not participate in practice yesterday due to turf toe.
QB Shaun Hill had this to say about the Giants' defense:
I don't know that they've necessarily done anything differently, they're just doing it better. They're playing at a very high level right now, nobody can deny that – they're playing well. Sometimes it's coverage guys holding up and then those guys are getting there and sometimes the front four is just absolutely beating people so quick. They're doing it all right now, they're playing total team defense.
