No Giants’ pick this week since they’re on a bye, so I will substitute with another game.
Here are this week’s picks. I’ll be using the point spreads from Yahoo! Sports. Feel free to include your picks for these or any other of the week’s games in the comments section. Good luck!
Week 8 Record: 2-2
Overall Record: 12-20
Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at Buffalo Bills
The Chiefs’ defense is unstoppable right now, and though Thad Lewis has not been awful at quarterback for the Bills, this is not looking like a good matchup for him. Kansas City is hoping to remain undefeated, and that looks pretty good heading into this week. The offense doesn’t exactly set any records, but the one thing about Alex Smith is that he simply wins football games. I expect he and Chiefs will get the win in Buffalo.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+16) at Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense just couldn’t find its rhythm last Thursday in St. Louis. But don’t expect that to be the case this week at home against the hapless Buccaneers. All I can say to Mike Glennon about dealing with Seattle’s “12th Man” is good luck. This should be a blowout Seahawks’ win.
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Cleveland Browns
The defending Super Bowl champion Ravens seem to be hanging around just enough to still be considered a playoff contender. Sunday will be a huge game in which Baltimore will either get back to the .500 mark or fall two games below. The Browns have now lost three straight after a three-game winning streak had everybody jumping on the Cleveland bandwagon. Give me the Ravens to cover by a field goal in this one.
Indianapolis Colts (+1) at Houston Texans
Wow, the Colts are only favored by one point against a Texans’ team that has fallen apart. I have to go with Indianapolis here. It’s a divisional game, so maybe Houston will show up. But even if the Texans keep it close, I don’t see them being able to defeat Andrew Luck.
