C David Baas (neck, headaches), LB Michael Boley (hamstring), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), LB Mark Herzlich (ankle), RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring), LB Spencer Paysinger (hamstring), S Kenny Phillips (knee), DE Dave Tollefson (knee) and DE Osi Umenyiora (ankle, knee) all watched while CB Prince Amukamara (back) and WR Mario Manningham (knee) were limited.
Tom Coughlin had few answers, especially when it came to Baas' head and neck conundrum..
"It is much more serious than a headache, obviously. That was what he brought to the medical people on Sunday but there is a lot more to it. As a matter of fact, he is having tests today and he has spent the last few days doing tests. A lot of that is to try to eliminate things as well. I really don’t have any information other than that and until I am sure that we are going to be talking about the right thing, I will wait and not speculate. I really can’t tell you anymore....My medical degree is just around the corner, by the way."
On Manningham and Umenyiora:
"We’re hoping Mario can do some things. Not sure if Osi’s ready yet."
On the origin of Prince's back ailment:
"That’s been an issue with him from time to time, actually as soon as he came back on the field. That’s when it started to be an issue. We’ll just list it as it is. He does have some issues there, but he manages, as I said, to play with it and we need him to contribute X amount of snaps every game."
The Dallas Cowboys had their injury problems as well. Some big names on their DNP list on Wed:
TE Martellus Bennett (ribs), QB Jon Kitna (back), G Kyle Kosier (foot), S Danny McCray (ankle), DT Josh Price-Brent (knee), WR Laurent Robinson (shoulder), RB Phillip Tanner (hamstring) and LB DeMarcus Ware (neck).
Cowboys' head coach Jason Garrett had no real update on Ware, the NFL's sack leader.
"We will see," Garrett said on a conference call with Giants reporters. "He had a stinger in the game on Sunday against Arizona and he did not practice today. Like with all our guys, we are hoping that as the week progresses he comes around but we have to see when he comes in tomorrow."
WR Miles Austin (hamstring) and RB Tony Fiammetta (illness) were limited.
"Miles had limited work in practice. It was his first time being on the practice field working football in a few weeks but it was limited," said Garrett. "He was practicing with us and we are hoping that he responds well to that today and when he comes in tomorrow, he can continue to progress as the week goes on."
