Today is Tuesday, players' day off, but the Giants will be off all week thank to the bye. They won't begin practicing for their next game until next Monday. They play the Oakland Raiders at home on Sunday, Nov 10.
The Giants' running game could sure use the respite. Peyton Hillis and Michael Cox have been carrying the load the past two weeks, in two Giant victories might we add. Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and David Wilson (neck) will be re-evaluated during the break.
The consensus is Jacobs will return to action, but Wilson may not. He could possibly be placed on IR in favor of Andre Brown (leg), who is eligible to return for the Giants' next game.
"I feel great," Brown said yesterday. "Great, legs… I’m exploding, cutting, cutting really well and I’m ready to go."
Brown said he intends to come back vs the Raiders and is looking forward to the contact drills leading up the game. He was asked how difficult it was to sit on the sidelines and watch the running game scramble.
"It’s something that, as a running back, we know there are going to be injuries," said Brown. "That’s why we carry four guys. With us struggling like that, it was very difficult to watch. But we’re a bunch of fighters, we’re going to go out there and continue to fight and continue to win."
