At USA Today, Kevin Allen writes that the price paid for Lundqvist's mask was the highest for any goalie mask.
Lundqvist said of the auction, "To be able to donate this amount to people that really need it right now is great. I am incredibly thankful to everyone who bid on the helmet, especially the winner. This money will hopefully be able to make a real difference for some families who were directly affected by this storm."
The winning bidder and three friends will snag ?4 tickets to watch the Rangers take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, February 9 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. After the foursome cheers the Blueshirts on from seats in Section 109 Row 10, they will meet Lundqvist, and he will send the winner home with two autographed Crown Collection hats that Lundqvist personally designed to benefit the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
Bidding is open through Wednesday, February 1 at?http://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/294608.
