Jaroslav Halak will be in net for the Islanders on Monday night against the Canucks at Barclays Center, head coach Jack Capuano said.
Adam Pelech, who was called up from Bridgeport to replace the injured Travis Hamonic, will be paired on defense with Nick Leddy.
Alan Quine will be in for Anthony Beauvillier
As we expected, Pelech takes Hamonic's place, which is quite the opportunity for him. Pelech is going to play big minutes out of the gate, and hopefully they'll be quality ones, because the Isles need a win in the worst possible way.
Pelech's recall gives the Isles five-left handed defensemen in the lineup, two of which are playing on their off side. So that's two of the three pairings featuring d-men playing out of position. Obviously that's far from ideal, and it's going to make things even more difficult in a season that has been far from smooth sailing to this point.
