The Islanders lost to the Penguins 4-0 on Friday night and the game may prove to be more costly than it just being the team's fifth straight loss.
Josh Bailey, who's tied for the team lead in points (50) with John Tavares, left in the first period with a lower-body injury. He did not return to the game and is likely to be out for the team's next game against the Devils on Sunday.
"I don't have a substantial report," Doug Weight said after the game, via Kyle Schnitzer of NY Post. "Obviously, he didn't return so it's not great. … I think he looks like I wouldn't expect to see him, but maybe it's a good time for a break."
Andrew Ladd and Ryan Pulock also left Friday's game, but Weight didn't give an update on either of them.
On Saturday, the Islanders recalled forward Anthony Beauvillier.
