How does this team keep finding new excruciating ways to lose? After Nick Leddy seemingly played the hero and tied the game up under a minute to play, they found a way to surrender another decisive goal in the closing seconds.
What is it about this trend? Maybe it's just that teams pepper the Isles with shot attempts all game and it isn't until late that the dam finally breaks? Maybe it's a mental thing; a defeatist philosophy that just keeps materializing at the worst possible time? Whatever it is, it's brutal to watch.
I keep saying I don't see how Jack Capuano survives the team's latest blunder, and he has found a way until this point. But this one feels like it could be the straw the breaks the camel's back. That said, it still won't surprise me when the status quo inevitably remains.
Next Game: The Islanders head back home and host the Flames on Monday night at 7 p.m.
