Jake Brown | Twitter | If coaches were judged off the first 30 games of the season, Jeff Hornacek would be in solid shape. Unfortunately for him, it's an 82-game season. And after that 30-game mark, he's been one of the worst coaches in the NBA.
After a 16-13 start in his first year coaching the Knicks last season, they went 15-38 the rest of the way. This season, after an impressive 17-14 start, they have gone 6-17. They find new ways to not only lose on the road, where they are an embarrassing 7-21, but now they're finding new ways to lose at home too, where they are 16-10 after starting 15-5.
At 23-31, the Knicks have 28 games remaining, and are four games behind the Sixers for the final playoff spot in the East. The season has quickly slipped away from them after they had me and almost everyone fooled for being a potential playoff team. The chances the Knicks have a miraculous 28-game stretch and make the playoffs are slime to none, especially considering only eight of their 28 games left are against teams below .500. Even those eight games look difficult, considering they choked in a home loss to the worst team in the NBA on Sunday afternoon...
