Nets coach Jason Kidd announced that veteran guard Jason Terry will be active tonight for the first time since November 20. Terry's been battling a left knee injury.

Terry has been limited to 11 games this season.

Kidd will stick with a starting lineup of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Alan Anderson, Mirza Teletovic and Kevin Garnett in the wake of Brook Lopez's season-ending injury.

Jason Terry and Andrei Kirilenko both participated in walk through drills today.

The Nets did not have a formal practice. Instead, the team watched tape, had meetings, and shot around.

Terry and Kirilenko have both been sidelined for weeks, and no solid information is available on their returns. Kirilenko speculated he could be back some time next week.

Deron Williams (ankle), Paul Pierce (hand), Andrei Kirilenko (back) and Jason Terry (knee) have been ruled out of tonight's game with the Nuggets at the Barclays Center.

The four players were expected out tonight, and they were the only Nets on the injury report. The Nets will have an 11-man bench tonight.

Shaun Livingston or Tyshawn Taylor will start at point guard in place of Williams, and Alan Anderson will start at small forward in place of Pierce.

An annual summer series, ESPN released its summer forecast yesterday, projecting where each team would finish in the 2013-14 season.

The top five in the East, according to ESPN, goes as follows: the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.

It's the same teams that finished in top five a season ago, except teams 2-5 are scrambled up. In 2012, the Knicks finished second in the Eastern Conference, followed by the Pacers, Nets and Chicago.

The addition of Andrea Bargnani and Metta World Peace has New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony excited about the upcoming season, but not enough that he can commit to the team long-term.

Anthony, 29, can opt out of his contract following the 2013-14 season. He has been rumored to be a target of the Los Angeles Lakers, where the franchise will look to rebuild and reemerge after the loss of Dwight Howard.

When asked whether the Knicks? offseason transactions have affected his decision to stay with the Knicks beyond next season, Anthony said he could not comment.

Let?s rewind a few weeks to NBA Draft night.

I was anxiously awaiting the Brooklyn Nets? pick at No. 22 and hoped they would select a big man to provide depth on the bench, which they did in Mason Plumlee.

The team had a solid core that had just won 49 games, and now just needed a few more pieces to the puzzle to improve on what was ultimately a successful first year in the borough of Kings.

So the Brooklyn Nets acquired two Hall of Famers to team up with three superstars to form easily one of the best ? if not the best ? starting five in the NBA.

The blockbuster trade sending Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets from the Boston Celtics is official, meaning the Nets starting lineup will feature a combined 35 All-Star appearances and be worth $82 million.

Last season, one of the Nets? strengths was the team?s depth. The team received significant contributions from the ?Bench Mob? including Andray Blatche, C.J. Watson, Keith Bogans and at times Jerry Stackhouse.
