With the short week, Jets S Jamal Adams had a slim chance to play against the Ravens on Thursday Night Football, as he continues to rehab his ankle injury. 

The injury report on Wednesday confirmed that. 

Adams highlighted the report as a doubtful player with the Jets heading to Baltimore. He didn't participate in practice all week, and though he may not be completely ruled out, it's safe to say it's a longshot for the Pro Bowl safety to be on the M&T Bank Stadium turf in his pads. 

Jets head coach Adam Gase was blunt in his response to Le'Veon Bell's bowling escapade late Saturday night, saying "I would say so" when asked if it was a bad optic for the team. 

Bell would disagree.

The star running back spoke to reporters on Tuesday, where Bell revealed he and Gase had a conversation about the questionable decision.

When the injury report surfaced on Monday for the Ravens, QB Lamar Jackson was featured with a quad injury. It was a bit of a surprise, but one Jets fans definitely didn't mind seeing, as the possibility of having him sidelined would give New York a greater chance to upset Baltimore on the road.

But Jackson killed that hope real quick on Tuesday.

"I feel great, I feel good. I'm 100 [percent]. I'll be out there Thursday night," Jackson told reporters.

Awful news surfaced from Jersey City, NJ on Tuesday, where two active shooters were in a firefight in a residential area with police officers. 

While this was happening, Jets WR Quincy Enunwa was at a local New Jersey school that needed to be locked down due to the event, per Fox 5 News' Tina Cervasio. Enunwa was making a guest appearance to talk to kids, and he is still at the school, says ESPN's Rich Cimini. 

Multiple reports have stated that at least six people, including a police officer were killed in the shooting. The two gunmen reportedly opened fire near a convenience store in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City. 

On Tuesday, Jets head coach Adam Gase addressed a New York Post report from Monday that said RB Le'Veon Bell was out bowling the night before the Jets took on the Dolphins despite being sick with the flu.

Bell had already been deemed out for the game because doctors said he was still contagious. Gase said that's why Bell wasn't at the team hotel, so he was free to go about his Saturday night however he pleased. 

Gase just wishes it was a night in for his running back.

The Jets have a big storyline to follow heading into their Thursday Night Football meeting with the Baltimore Ravens.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson, the frontrunner for the NFL's MVP honor this season, was limited in practice on Monday. 

In the Ravens' recent 24-17 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, Jackson apparently suffered a quad injury.

The Jets have tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens and their MVP candidate in Lamar Jackson on a short work week, as the two team faceoff on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.

Jackson, the final quarterback taken in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, where Jets QB Sam Darnold was selected third overall, poses a challenge for any defense because of his dynamic playmaking skills. 

But Jets head coach Adam Gase knows it's just as important to keep up with an opposing offense sometimes as it is to shut them down. That's the case with the Ravens and Jackson, the coach said on Monday.

This has been a particularly frustrating season for Jets' wide receiver Robby Anderson. Entering the year, the Jets were hopeful he was going to have a breakout season and establish himself as a bona fide number one threat. For a variety of reasons, that hasn't happened as he had disappointing numbers in the first half of the season.  

However, he's been playing some of the best football of his career over the past three weeks. Let's investigate what's behind this upturn in fortunes and what effect this will have had on the pending free agent's value in the open market.

After squeaking out a 21-20 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Jets head coach Adam Gase had a laundry list of injuries as long as the list of field goals attempted in their recent victory. 

The Jets had Monday off from practice, but had they took the field, Gase said eight players would've missed the session. 

Those include safety Jamal Adams (ankle), defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (stinger), cornerback Brian Poole (concussion), tight end Ryan Griffin (ankle), wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring/ knee), running back Bilal Powell (ankle), offensive lineman Chuma Edoga (ankle), and cornerback Arthur Maulet (ankle). 

Down the stretch of the New York Jets' 22-21 win over the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Sam Darnold did not flinch.

With an assist from kicker Sam Ficken, who nailed consecutive fourth-quarter tries from 42 and 44 yards -- the latter as time expired -- Darnold engineered back-to-back scoring drives, including the game-winning march, as the Jets (5-8) held off the Dolphins (3-10) Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

"I think it's huge, especially when you practice that situation so much in the offseason," Darnold said of the Jets' 49-yard drive in seven plays and 1:33 to down the Dolphins. "To be able to execute that in a real game, it's huge for our confidence. At the same time, we practice it all the time, so we just went out there and did our job. (Wide receiver) Vyncint (Smith) made a great play out there and obviously Sam did a great job kicking the ball."

Jets WR Robby Anderson said earlier in the week that he considers himself a top-five NFL wide receiver. And when such a statement is made, that person needs to back it up.

Anderson did just that Sunday in the Jets' 22-21 win over the Dolphins, where he hauled in seven catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. 

"We hot right now," Anderson told SNY's Jeane Coakley after the game. "I feel like I'm in the zone, I feel like he's in the zone. We've just got to keep it going.

Odell Beckham Jr. might just have talked his way out of another city and another franchise, and that opens up some tantalizing possibilities. He still is -- when his body is healthy and his mind is right -- one of the best receivers in football. 

The Jets, of course, really do need a No. 1 receiver.

But what they don't need is a Beckham-sized headache.

Jets kicker Sam Ficken drilled a 44-yard field goal as time expired on Sunday to give the Jets a 22-21 win over the Dolphins.

The third year kicker from Penn State was 3-for-3 on field goals for the day, while going 1-for-2 on extra points.

After the game, Ficken was all smiles as he received praise from head coach Adam Gase and quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Jets weren't perfect in any sense, but they came out of their matchup with the Dolphins on Sunday with a 22-21 win on a game-winning field goal by Sam Ficken.

Christopher Johnson has already promised that Adam Gase won't be fired and he'll be the Jets coach at the start of next season. There are no indications at all that the Jets CEO is willing to change his mind, no matter what happens down the stretch of the season.

But Gase sure has to be stretching his boss' patience.

Gase needed an absolute gift from the Dolphins and the officials to avoid what would have been another embarrassing loss on Sunday. The Jets won when a pass interference non-call was overturned on replay, giving them another shot to get into game-winning field goal range. Then, Sam Ficken nailed a 44-yarder as time expired to give the Jets a 22-21 win.

According to SNY's NFL Insider Ralph Vacchiano, the Jets may look into trading running back Le'Veon Bell and safety Jamal Adams this offseason.

Bell is in his first season with the team, after signing a four-year, $52.5 million deal with $35 million guaranteed on March 13. 

"Obviously you know he's out today with his illness. It's the latest blow in what's shaping up as the worst season of his career," Vacchiano said. "But the question now is, will it be his only season with the Jets? Multiple sources around the NFL told me this week that they really do expect that the Jets will make Bell available this offseason."

The 4-8 Jets are looking to bounce back against the 3-9 Dolphins. Here's what you need to know about where to watch...

After suffering a devastating loss to the Bengals last week, the Jets don't really have a potential playoff berth to play for anymore, but not losing to the Miami Dolphins for a second time this season should be enough to motivate this squad heading into Sunday.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano previews the matchup as the Dolphins visit MetLife Stadium. Last time these two teams faced each other, Miami shocked many by defeating the Jets 26-18 to pick up their first win of the season in Week 9.

That loss is certainly one that the Jets would like to have back, and although Sunday's game can't make up for it on their record, it's still a necessary win to get.

Le'Veon Bell's status for Sunday against the Miami Dolphins has officially been downgraded to out by the team.

Bell, who was initially listed as questionable on Friday, missed two days of practice with an illness, and now will not suit up against Miami.

On Friday, Gase would not specify the kind of illness Bell is dealing with, and would only say that everyone recovers at a different pace.

The Jets secondary could look very thin this weekend when they face the Miami Dolphins, with multiple players in doubt to suit up and CB Brian Poole officially listed as out.

In addition to Poole, things aren't looking to great for S Jamal Adams and CB Arthur Maulet, who are both listed as doubtful to play. Poole (concussion), Adams (ankle) and Maulet (calf) missed all three days of practice this week.

The trio all suffered their injuries at various points of Sunday's 22-6 loss to the Bengals, a game that handed Cincinnati their first win of the season.

When the Jets released Wednesday's injury report for Week 14, they had their top defensive player atop the list.

With Adams as the latest casualty, the injury bug has bitten the Jets throughout the 2019 season, particularly on defense.

At 4-8, the Jets are all but certain to miss out on the playoffs.

It's been a strange season for Gang Green, starting with a Week 1 loss to Buffalo that easily could have been a win, followed by Sam Darnold missing three games with mono. And just as it looked like the season was on the verge of a complete collapse at 1-7, the Jets won three straight to get to 4-7.

Then, unexpectedly, the Jets were defeated by the previously winless Bengals.

Now, the Jets will look to finish out the final quarter of their regular season schedule, and, at the very least, build momentum heading into 2020.

Head coach Adam Gase said on Wednesday that he hasn't been told Adams has a high ankle sprain, but Adams remains in a walking boot.

"He's gotta really feel good for me to put him back out there," Gase said when asked about a potential timetable.  

After all the speculation, we finally have an answer: The Jets will place C.J. Mosley on season ending IR, Adam Gase announced Tuesday afternoon on The Michael Kay Show.

Mosley, who had played in just two games this season after suffering a groin injury back in Week 1, kept himself off IR and away from season ending surgery when the Jets started to win games again.

As the Jets won three straight and were still technically in contention to make the playoffs, Mosley was kept off IR in hope that the Jets continue winning and can throw in their best defensive weapon for a last push for the postseason.

The Jets' chances at the playoffs were slim, but now they're dead following their 22-6 loss to the winless Bengals on Sunday. 

After winning three-straight games heading into Week 13, the loss came as a bit of a shock. With the tides turning, could the Jets have overlooked the Bengals, leading to their demise? 

Quarterback Sam Darnold says no. 

The Bengals took their first win of the season against the Jets in a 22-6 game in Week 14, an outing which didn't feature much Le'Veon Bell.

Bell had only ten times for 32 yards as a runner in the loss, which also saw four catches for the running back.

The plays being called for the Jets come via head coach Adam Gase. On Monday, Gase explained why he only mustered up 10 carries for Bell in the game. It was a matter of circumstances, the coach said.

Jets S Jamal Adams had tears in his eyes when he was talking after Sunday's loss to the Bengals, and it was mainly due to the boot on his foot. 

Well, head coach Adam Gase revealed Monday the reason for that boot was an ankle sprain for the Pro Bowl safety. 

Gase added that Adams will undergo an MRI and "that kind of stuff" to further assess the injury. He will be considered "legit week-to-week," and Gase doesn't believe that he'll be practicing this week. 

After the Jets disappointing 22-6 loss to the Bengals, Ray Lucas and Bart Scott gave out their grades for the offense, defense, and special teams.

"They only had six less yards than the Bengals," Scott said. "But it wasn't horrible, they moved the ball early in the first half. They just couldn't finish drives."

The Jets finished the game with 271 total yards of offense, and were just 7-for-17 on third down conversions.
