The Jets made a curious move prior to Saturday's game vs. the Houston Texans.
Davis Webb, the Jets' third-string quarterback, was active for the game, as was Josh McCown while Sam Darnold is the starter.
It is the first time this season that Webb has been active while Darnold and McCown were also active.
Webb was active for the three games Darnold did not play as McCown's backup until Darnold returned last week from his sprained right foot.
Darnold re-aggravated the injury last week vs. Buffalo and had to come out for a series before returning.
Webb could be acting as insurance in the event Darnold must leave the game, but the rookie quarterback was a full participant in practice during the week.
CB Trumaine Johnson (foot), RB Elijah McGuire (ankle), LB Jordan Jenkins (shoulder/ankle) and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) were all also active after being listed as questionable on the injury report.
WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle), LB Jeremiah Attaochu (concussion), WR Deontay Burnett, CB Jeremy Clark, CB Derrick Jones, OL Ben Braden, DL Foley Fatukasi were the inactives.
The NFL fined CB Buster Skrine $20,054 for a roughing the passer hit against Bills QB Josh Allen while DE Henry Anderson was fined $10,026 for an unncessary roughness hit on kicker Stephen Hauschka.
