The Jets have placed S Marcus Gilchrist (knee) and OT Breno Giacomini (back) on the Injured Reserve, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
S Ronald Martin and OL Craig Watts have been promoted from the practice squad to fill the two spots on the roster, while OL Martin Wallace has been signed to the practice squad.
Gilchrist appeared in the first 13 games of the season for the Jets before tearing his patellar tendon during Sunday's win over the 49ers. The 28-year old safety recorded 55 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble in 2016.
Giacomini, who began the season on the Physically Unable to Perform List, started only five games for New York this year. The veteran offensive tackle has dealt with back, calf, and shoulder issues throughout the season.
After signing with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft, Martin was claimed off waivers by the Jets before the start of the 2015 season. Martin appeared in eight games with the Jets last season, recording one combined tackle. He has spent most of this season on New York's practice squad.
Watts spent his first two seasons in the NFL on the Chargers' practice squad. The Jets signed Watts to its practice squad in early September.
