The Josh Rosen-Cardinals divorce is complete.

The team has a deal in place to send last year's No. 10 overall selection to the Dolphins for the 48th pick in this year's draft, according to multiple reports.

As late as hours before the draft the Giants had been linked to possibly landing Rosen, but that obviously went out the window when they selected Daniel Jones at No. 6 to be Eli Manning's successor.

The Giants have made it very clear, over and over again the last few years, that they will not force a decision on their Quarterback of the Future if they don't see one they love. They are comfortable putting it off indefinitely. They might even be on the verge of doing it again.

But that would be a mistake, no matter how good the class of quarterbacks looks in the 2020 draft. They can't keep punting this issue into the future. It's time to settle down, even if it means settling at the most important position in sports.

They need to find their Quarterback of the Future now.

Josh Rosen seems to have left a good impression on at least one of his former teammates.

DE Markus Golden, whom the Giants signed to a one-year deal this offseason, praised the Cardinals quarterback on Twitter after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted that he was the first player in the building on the first day of offseason conditioning.

Golden said that should hardly be a surprise to anyone that knows Rosen.

Eli Manning is not going to play forever, even though it sometimes feels that way. And though the Giants won't dismiss the idea of him still being their quarterback in 2020, their ideal scenario remains finding his successor right now.

So who can they get? For this year, there seem to be only six possibilities, using either of their two picks in the first round of the NFL Draft, or maybe through a trade. Here's an early ranking of the contenders based on the likelihood that they'll end up as the Giants' guy:

PHOENIX - Perhaps you've heard, the Giants have a plan. They've been pretty insistent on that over the last week. Also, their purge of some of their most popular players was "just business". It certainly wasn't personal with Odell Beckham, whom all the key people in the organization insist they genuinely liked.

All that, of course, is part of the company line. But what have we really learned about what the Giants think and are doing over the last four days? After speaking to co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch, coach Pat Shurmur, and multiple sources inside and outside of the organization, here are 10 takeaways from the Giants' time at the NFL's annual owners meetings at the Arizona Biltmore hotel:

PHOENIX - The Giants are planning to investigate every possible option when it comes to finding their Quarterback of the Future, and that includes a potential trade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen.

But here's the thing: At the moment they have no idea if Rosen is, or ever will be, available.

And nothing that happened at the NFL owners meetings this week has cleared that mystery up.

INDIANAPOLIS - The debate still rages about whether the Giants were right to pass on a franchise quarterback in last year's draft to take Saquon Barkley second overall. As far as the Giants are concerned, of course, their decision couldn't have worked out better.

But just imagine if they could've come out of that draft with Barkley and a quarterback, too.

Earlier this month, the Cardinals tried to make sure everyone knew they were committed to quarterback Josh Rosen with new coach Kliff Kingsbury declaring Rosen "our guy," a quote which was sent out by the team's official Twitter account.

Well, the door to a Rosen trade was busted wide open again on Wednesday. Asked at the NFL Combine if Rosen was the team's quarterback, Arizona GM Steve Keim said, "He is right now, for sure."

Right now.
