Knicks guard Frank Ntilikina could miss 1-2 weeks after he strained his groin in Sunday's loss to the Miami Heat.
Ntilikina, who started New York's last two games at point guard after Emmanuel Mudiay suffered a shoulder injury, was limited to 14:50 on Sunday, scoring just six points on 3-of-6 shooting.
The 20-year-old Ntilikina did not travel with the team to Charlotte for Monday's game against the Hornets, and the Knicks recalled Kadeem Allen from G-League Westchester. Trey Burke is expected to start at point guard.
Ntilikina missed three games earlier this month after he suffered a left ankle strain in the Knicks' victory over the Lakers on Jan. 4. He returned on Jan. 13 and had logged at least 14 minutes in each of New York's last six games.
In his second season since being the No. 8 pick in the NBA draft, Ntilikina has averaged 5.9 points and 2.8 assists in 41 games.
