Knicks guard Derrick Rose will miss Tuesday's game against the Wizards due to a sprained left ankle and will likely miss Wednesday's game as well, head coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters.
Rose is still in a walking boot.
Brandon Jennings is expected to start in Rose's place.
Rose left Friday's victory over the Hornets late in the third quarter due to the injury and did not return. He appeared to injure the ankle when he landed awkwardly while defending Hornets guard Kemba Walker.
He went for X-rays, which came back negative. After the game, head coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters the injury was not too concerning but he did not know if Rose would miss time or not.
"It's nothing major,'' Hornacek said, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post. "He'll be back whenever sprained ankles heal. Could be the next game, could be two, three games.''
