Julius Randle and Marcus Morris have missed the Knicks' past two and three games, respectively. Randle has for personal reasons while Morris has a sore neck.
The Knicks lost Friday to the Pelicans 123-111, their fifth-straight loss. Their next outing is Sunday at 3:30 p.m. as they'll host the Heat.
The duo's teammates and coaches are hopeful the two game return to the lineup for that contest.
"It'd' mean a lot," Guard Elfrid Payton said. "It'd be good, we' ve been missing those guys out there, offensively and defensively so looking forward to that."
Regardless of potential returns, Knicks interim coach Mike Miller said he knows it's hard to envision making it through an entire season healthy, so no matter the circumstances, the Knicks have to take a positive step forward either way.
"We're looking forward to getting everybody healthy and getting everybody back together. Through the course of 82 games things come up, injuries and different things, you have to work your way through it," Miller said.
