Markel Brown will be an unrestricted free agent after Brooklyn rescinded their qualifying offer on him, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Brown has played two seasons with the Nets, where he has averaged 16.2 minutes per game in 109 games played. He averages 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

The Nets will extend a qualifying offer to G Markel Brown, making him a restricted free agent, reports Zach Lowe.

Brown, 24, averaged 5.9 points, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds in 62 games for the Nets this past season.

He was drafted by the Timberwolves 44th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft before being dealt to the Nets on draft night.

Myles Turner had 28 points and 10 rebounds and the Indiana Pacers beat the Brooklyn Nets 129-105 Sunday to clinch a playoff berth.

Solomon Hill had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Indiana while George Hill had 18 points, Ian Mahinmi had 16 and Paul George had 15. The Pacers jumped ahead 17-5 in the first quarter and led by as many as 42 points.

Brook Lopez had 20 points and tipped in a basket with .4 seconds left in overtime to lift the Brooklyn Nets over the Denver Nuggets 121-120 on Friday night.

Nikola Jokic missed badly on a backward desperation shot off an inbound pass as time expired, and the Nets beat the Nuggets for the fifth straight time.

Markel Brown had 21 points to lead the Nets and Bojan Bogdanovic added 17 points. Bogdanovic made 2 of 3 free throws in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime.

Emmanuel Mudiay had 25 points to lead the Nuggets. Gary Harris added 21 points and Kenneth Faried had 17 points. >> Read more

Brook Lopez, who averages a team-high 20.2 points, has scored 24 per game over his last seven but has been limited to 11.7 in the past three matchups with Memphis.

Thaddeus Young finished with 20 points, Markel Brown had a career-high 19 and Lopez added 16 in Monday's 105-104 win over Denver. Joe Johnson banked in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the Nets in position to win back-to-back games for the first time since Dec. 8 and 10.

"I knew I had one-point-something (on the clock), so I had enough to at least take a dribble," Johnson said. "I don't even know how it went in."

The Nets have played well offensively at home, averaging 107.8 points while making 47.9 percent from 3-point range in their last six games there. However, they've given up 110.0 per game and a 48.6 field-goal percentage over their past four overall. >> Read more…

Markel Brown is making a strong case to be more of a focal point in the Nets' offense.

Brown scored a career-high 19 points (6-of-10 from the field, 2-of-4 from deep) in 24 minutes on Monday night against the Nuggets. That comes just one day after he shot a perfect 5-for-5 (3-for-3 from beyond the arc) for 15 points in the loss to the Sixers.

This season, Brown has shot 34.3 percent from the field, and averaged 3.4 points in 11.1 minutes per game. When Brown plays 10 minutes or more, he has shot 40.8 percent from the field and averaged 5.8 points in those contests.

Joe Johnson's 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Brooklyn Nets to a 105-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

Thaddeus Young scored 20 points, Markel Brown added a career-high 19 and Johnson finished with 12 points and eight assists for Brooklyn.

Danilo Gallinari had 24 points and Kenneth Faried added 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Nuggets.
