With one hit over the weekend, in 11 at-bats, he's "down" to .272/.359/.563. His eight home runs still lead the FSL. Vaughn is well ahead of last year's power pace when he hit 13 home runs combined between Savannah and St. Lucie, nine of which came during the second half in the FSL. Even if some of those balls stop going over the wall, his extra-base hit rate is up overall from 7.1% in 2011 to 12% in 2012.
It's an encouraging start for the 23-year old, but he might never reach his father's glory. As BA points out, "He's got a chance, but keep in mind that his father Greg, a four-time all-star, already had reached Milwaukee by the time he was 23."
