Syndergaard Notes: The right-hander has a 2.39 ERA during his last 10 starts. He is 6-1 with a 1.57 ERA so far at Citi Field. Through his first 16 starts, he has 106 strikeouts. Allowed five runs in a season-low four-inning outing last time out against the Rays. This will be his first start against the Rockies.
Butler Notes: Lost to the Nationals last time out, issuing four walks in a 6-1 loss. He is 0-3 with a 7.29 ERA since the All-Star break. He has a 4.34 ERA on the road compared to a 7.28 ERA at Coors Field. Has not pitched more than six innings in any start this season.
Mets Notes: The Mets are now 41-18 at home this year, the best record any Mets team has had at home through 59 games. Now have a 9-2 record in August. A win today would give the Mets their second-ever four-game sweep over the Rockies. Mets pitchers have thrown 23 straight scoreless innings. Daniel Murphy has a hit in eight consecutive games. The Mets have not been 11 games over .500 since June 27, 2010.
Rockies Notes: Colorado has a .237 road batting average this season, 25th in all of baseball. The Rockies have now lost 15 of their last 20 games away from Coors Field. Carlos Gonzalez has five home runs in August. Nolan Arenado is hitting .292 over the last week.
