Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Jason Vargas (1-0, 14.21,) who can only go up from his last outing...right? He only recorded one out and faced just six batters last Saturday in Atlanta, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks while throwing just 17 of 36 pitches for strikes. His previous appearance came out of the bullpen when he allowed four runs in one inning against the Twins.
Who is starting for the Cardinals?
RHP Adam Wainright (1-1, 3.94,) who is coming off consecutive quality starts and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning his last time out in Cincinnati, where he ended up allowing two solo home runs. In his previous start he allowed just one run in six innings on five hits and no walks while striking out nine.
