The Mets (67-61, 10.0 GB in NL East, 2.0 GB for second Wild Card) continue their three-game series against the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (78-52, 6.0 GA in NL East) at Citi Field on Saturday night at 7:10 p.m.
The Mets lost a tough 14 inning game to the Braves 2-1 on Friday night, despite Jacob deGrom doing everything he could to help the team win. The righty allowed just one run on four hits, while striking out 13 batters over 7.0 innings of work. During a stretch through the middle innings, deGrom struck out eight batters consecutively. Leading off the bottom of the sixth, deGrom hit a first pitch home run to tie the game... it was his second home run of the season and third of his career. Jeff McNeil will be active for Saturday night's game against the Braves, as he was removed from the IL.
