Who is starting for the Mets?
RHP Noah Syndergaard (9-6, 3.71 ERA), who has been lights-out in his eight starts since the All-Star break, posting a 1.82 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. In his last start against Cleveland, Syndergaard allowed just two hits over six innings of work, striking out five without walking a batter. He was removed after the sixth due to a lengthy rain delay.
Who is starting for the Cubs?
RHP Kyle Hendricks (9-9, 3.20 ERA), who picked up his ninth win of the season in his last time out, giving up just three hits in seven shutout innings against the Giants. After allowing seven earned runs in just 2.2 innings against the Reds on August 10, Hendricks has allowed just one earned run over his last 14.0 innings.
