In a minor move before the Mets' series finale against the Braves on Sunday, New York recalled RHP Chris Mazza from Triple-A Syracuse while optioning RHP Chris Flexen.
Mazza's last appearance with the Mets came on July 18, where he allowed two runs on five hits over one inning. Overall, Mazza owns a 5.19 ERA and 3.56 FIP over 8.2 innings with the Mets in his debut season with the team.
Mazza hasn't been pitching great in Triple-A, though. He's allowed eight earned runs on 17 hits over his last three outings.
Flexen just pitched two-thirds innings on Saturday against the Braves, allowing only one hit. But that was his only appearances since June 30. In 13.2 innings with the Mets this season, Flexen owns a 6.59 ERA and 5.56 FIP.
