SS Wilfredo Tovar: 2-4, 2B, BB, R. Recently 20, the defensive whiz is hitting .301/.384/.397 in 19 games in August and .242/.311/.300 for the year. He's become more selective as the year has gone on with 11 and 10 walks in July and August respectively, his only two months in double-figures this year.
Erik Goeddel: 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Both of the walks were intentional. It's been difficult for Goeddel since his return from a shoulder strain that cost him over two months: 18 IP, 19 H, 12 R, 10 ER, 8 BB, 11 K.
It has not been difficult for Adam Kolarek: 3 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K. In 46.2 IP this year, the 22-year old owns a 1.54 ERA and has fanned 48, walked 15 and given up just 34 hits. He's been piggy-backing most of the year, tossing three innings or so every five days. He's been sitting 90-91 and will touch 93 on occasion and can spin a breaking ball. Clearly, he's earned a trip to St. Lucie for 2012, but in what role?
