"I really didn't give up anything hard hit, I don't think," Parnell said after the game. "I probably could have located better and tried to attack them. Things didn't go my way."
Parnell is 1-1 with one save and a 3.86 ERA in 2015. He chalks up his recent issues to trying too hard, including his perceived problems in pitching back-to-back games.
"I'm kind of putting a lot of pressure on myself and trying to be too fine," said Parnell, who admitted to trying to do more than maybe he's capable of at this point in the season. "I feel like when I try to get too fine I give up those little weak hits and stuff like that. You live and you learn. ... I'll keep going forward."
