The Mets have reaped the benefits of re-signing outfielder Yoenis Cespedes this season.
Cespedes, 30, put together a first half performance that garnered him All-Star Game honors. In 80 games played, he is batting .302 with 21 home runs and 52 RBI.
Since his arrival at the trade deadline last season, Cespedes has provided the Mets with a dynamic power bat in the middle of their lineup that carried them down the stretch in 2015.
Cespedes agreed to a three-year deal worth $75 million when he surprised many and returned to New York this winter. However, there is a clause in his deal that allows him to opt-out at the end of this season and once again hit the open market.
Jon Hein and Marc Malusis debate if the Mets should discuss a contract extension now with Cespedes on SNY's Loud Mouths.
