Jacob deGrom (11-6, 2.03 ERA) will start for the Mets and face RHP Kevin Gausman (2-4, 4.48 ERA) at 7:05 p.m. ET.
DeGrom Notes: Since May 16, deGrom is 8-2 with a 1.46 ERA in 105 innings pitched. Including his last start, deGrom has eight starts where he has allowed no runs. He brings in a 2.03 ERA and 0.893 WHIP, which are second-best in the majors. Earlier this season, he defeated the Orioles, giving up just one run in seven innings.
Gausman Notes: This will be the right-hander's ninth start of the year. He has one career relief outing against the Mets, throwing one scoreless inning. Struck out eight and allowed three runs over seven innings during his previous start against the Mariners. Gausman is 1-3 and has a 5.02 ERA in interleague games.
Mets Notes: The Mets bring in an eight-game winning streak against the Orioles, and have a 21-9 overall regular-season record against them. When scoring four or more runs, the Mets are 45-7 this season. Mets starting pitchers have a 2.38 ERA since July 25. Curtis Granderson has 14 RBIs in 15 August games. Since joining the Mets, Yoenis Cespedes is hitting .292 with two home runs and five doubles.
Orioles Notes: Baltimore comes in having swept a four-game series from the A's. Their 46 errors this season are the fewest in all of baseball. Orioles hitters have a .285 batting average with runners in scoring position, third-best in the majors. They lost the first two games to the Mets this season, but are 8-7 overall against the National League. Gerardo Parra is 11-for-27 over the last week.
