Trailing 10-1 in the fifth inning, the Mets built a rally.
Jeff McNeil got things started with a two-run home run to right off of Kyle Hendricks. For McNeil, the homer broke him out of an 0-for-9 skid.
Next up, J.D. Davis made it back-to-back jacks, as he lifted a solo home run to right.
The Mets kept the rally going against the Cubs' bullpen, as Joe Panik blooped an RBI hit into left field to make it a 10-5 game. Amed Rosario then followed with another RBI hit.
Thanks to the rally, the Mets had cut the Cubs' lead from 10-1 to 10-6 with with four innings to go.
