Most of the team's personnel and players maintain residences in Manhattan and Northern New Jersey, and the team's practice facility—at least for the foreseeable future—will remain in East Rutherford at the PNY Center.
But something special is set to happen tomorrow...
For the first time ever, the Brooklyn Nets will hold practice Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The now-notorious Black and White scrimmage teams are set to square off, and we'll be there!
"A team dressed in black and whitewill take the court Sunday morning at Barclays Center, making a small bit of history with every dribble.
The practice will be the Nets’ first in Brooklyn, and their first chance to get acquainted with their new home. There are many bigger moments ahead, of course, but even the minor steps are significant for a team that is essentially brand-new and evolving by the day."
I will be at Barclays Center tomorrow to check this out. One of the cooler things about the practice court, is that it is actually visible from the street. The Nets held their media day photo shoots on the practice court, which is located on the lower level of Barclays. Up on the street, though, there are windows peering down onto the hardwood. So, if you're in the neighborhood around noon tomorrow, pass by and check it out.
Mr. Beck hit the nail on the head in that piece. We are currently witnessing history, and each step, no matter how small, is important. Brooklyn has been waiting for a long time, so tomorrow will be a pretty cool day.
