It's just the first Knicks vs. Nets game of the season, and tempers have already started to flare.
With about 1:30 left in the second quarter, Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving drove toward the basket and missed a layup. Irving fell to the ground and caught his own rebound, Knicks power forward Bobby Portis then tried to grab the ball from Irving, who was still on the ground.
Nets forward Taurean Prince then ran over and attempted to shield Irving from Portis.
The two teams then started to push and shove each other, before officials and coaches came onto the floor to separate the them.
The officials issued technical fouls to both Portis and Prince for the scuffle.
