Players claimed off waivers: DT Louis Nix, CB Asa Jackson (Sept. 6).
New York Giants Transactions
- February 11 - Waived RB David Wilson, who missed the entire 2014 NFL season with a neck injury. The club will reportedly save $1.3 million in cap space by waiving their former first round pick.
- February 11 - Signed OL Brett Jones, a free agent from the Canadian Football League to a three-year contract (2015: $435,000 2016: $525,000 2017: $615,000). No portion of Jones' contract is guaranteed.
- February 17 - Re-signed WR Kevin Ogletree to a one-year, $825K contract. Ogletree, 28, caught five passes in seven games after being signed by the Giants last October.
- February 19 - Re-signed OL Dallas Reynolds to a one-year, $700K contract. Reynolds was a restricted free agent this offseason.
- Feburary 24 - Waived DE Mathias Kiwanuka, a nine-year veteran with the team. The move frees up $4.825 million in cap space for the Giants.
The Jones signing is nothing more than a risk-free one with them hoping to add a quality player at a bargain price. Jones was the CFL's top lineman in 2014. Reynolds' deal is pretty much the same. With JD Walton probably sent packing, $700k is a bargain for Reynolds' experience with the new offense and his versatility.
The Giants also filled the two open spots on their practice squad today.
CB Junior Mertile, who was in training camp with the Giants this summer, was added as was LB Darin Drakeford, who was waived from the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad last week.

The 6-foot, 200 lbs Carlos played two years at Purdue, first as a wide receiver and later as a running back. He was briefly with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, but has no professional playing experience.
The team had a roster opening after waiving RB Jeremy Wright on Friday.

From Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record:
Clement was expected to sign with the Giants as an undrafted free agent and participate in rookie mini-camp earlier this month. But when the roster was finalized, he wasn?t on it. Now apparently he will be as Clement tweeted a photo with an accompanying message that suggested he was signing with the Giants.
As for Bosworth, in case you?re wondering, yes, he is the nephew of the Boz, Brian Bosworth, and the fiance of Real Housewives of Orange County star Kara Keough, whose family was previously featured on the Bravo hit reality series for several seasons. Her mother, Jeana, was an original RH of OC cast member; her father is one-time Yankees pitcher Matt Keough.
TE Michael Palmer and CB Antonio Dennard were waived/injured. The Giants filled one of the openings by signing TE Morgan Newton, who was an invited to last week's rookie minicamp.
From Rotoworld: Palmer just signed with the Giants last weekend after spending his first three seasons with the Falcons. Dennard spent all of 2012 on the Jaguars' practice squad.?
Curry is the team's newest reclamation project, a "low-risk" move the team hopes will reap major benefits. He will be tried at all three LB positions in camp.
The 27 year-old Okam was a former fifth round selection of the Texans, who has also spent time in Tampa. He is a long shot to make the roster.
New York then selected Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib at 110. The Cardinals have subsequently taken OL Earl Watford of James Madison at 116.
The Giants have only three pick remaining - a fifth rounder (152) and two seventh rounders (225 and 253).
So how will they replace these veterans?
First off, there's no replacing Bradshaw. He is one of the toughest runners in all of football. That is, when he's healthy. Unfortunately, Bradshaw has not been healthy lately and, as we speak, he's recovering from another surgical procedure on his foot.
Who's next? Well, look at the below chart and you can see where they are going next.
The top cap space eaters on the Giants' 2013 roster:
Previously signed: WR Kris Adams, CB Antonio Dennard, QB Curtis Painter, DT Bobby Skinner, DB Trumaine McBride, LB Jake Muasau, OL Michael Jasper, WR Kevin Hardy, WR Brandon Collins, T Levy Adcock, DE Matt Broha, TE Larry Donnell, OL Stephen Goodin, T Matt McCants, DB Laron Scott, DB David Caldwell and Bryant Browning and Chris DeGeare.
Jackson, a product of Pitt, is 6'3" and spent last season on the Redskins practice squad. Childers played in one preseason game for the Rams last season, and played both TE and QB at Coastal Carolina. Rogers, who can also punt, spent time with both New Orleans and Tampa Bay. None of the three has ever appeared in a regular season game.

Caldwell was signed as a UDFA by the Colts out of William and Mary (where he was a teammate of Giants' DE Adrian Tracy). He started 13 games for Indianapolis in 2011, but was waived in camp this year and did not catch on with another club this season.
Bryant, an Ohio State product, broke in as a UDFA with the Rams in 2011 and has spent time on the practice squads of the Panthers and Browns.
