Answer: Oct. 8, 1989...Jeff Hostetler rolled out and threw a 22-yard TD pass to Carl Banks at Philadelphia. The play gave the Giants a 10-0 lead in the second quarter. The Eagles rallied in the 4th quarter to beat the Giants that day, 21-19.

Yesterday's question: What is the least amount of points scored by the Giants in a full single season since the 16-game schedule was instituted in 1978?

Answer: 237 in 1979. It was the first season George Young took over at GM. Young hired Ray Perkins to be his head coach and the team's first round selection in the draft that year was QB Phil Simms. The team would qualify for the playoffs two seasons later under Perkins, who left in 1983 to coach at his alma mater, Alabama. The Giants would go on to become one of the league's best over the next decade under Bill Parcells, making the playoffs five times and capturing two Super Bowls.

Rodney Hampton carried the load for the Giants from 1990-1997. He is second all-time in rushing yards and third in rushing TDs. His yards per carry average was only 3.8, more of a testament to the Giants' poor offensive line than to his ability to move the ball forward.

Bill Arnsparger had success everywhere he went in his career - except with the Giants. He coached the Giants for 2 1/2 seasons - from 1974 to 1976, arguably the roughest stretch in the franchise's history. The Giants played home games in three different stadiums during those three seasons.

Yesterday's question: K Jay Feely holds the Giants? franchise record for most points scored in a single season (148 in 2005). Of the top 14 point-scorers in Giant history, there is only one non-kicker. Who is it, when did he do it and how points did he score that year?

The answer is.....Joe Morris, who scored a 21 touchdowns in 1985 for a total of 126 points. His efforts gained him a Pro Bowl berth and ranks fourth in team history behind Feely (148, 2005), K John Carney (143, 2008) and K Ali Haji-Sheikh (127, 1983). K Lawrence Tynes is tied with Morris for fourth, booting 126 points in 2009.
