NFL Mock Draft

I recently participated in a mock draft with 31 other national bloggers/writers from around the NFL. I was asked to represent the Giants at No. 9. (draftseason.com, March 5).

I took Nebraska DE/LB Randy Gregory (6 foot 6, 240 pounds).

The draft is 3 days away and this will be the final mock draft. We've seen teams add through free agency and trades. We've also seen prospects move up and down a lot since the Senior Bowl and Combine. All of that is combined to make this final mock draft. Last year the draft was about 45% accurate by either team or exact spot that the player was ?drafted. This year we're aiming for 60%, so take a look at the mock draft below and use the comment section to leave your opinions on the selections.

It?s time to start guessing what GM Jerry Reese and the Giants brass will do in 2 weeks at the 2013 NFL Draft. Luckily for you, I have a pretty good feel for the team?s needs and have been good at my educated guesses in the past.

For this Mock Draft I will list my prediction, the GM?s likely selection, and what I believe fans want to see.

The below five-round mock is from one of my favorite websites: WalterFootball.com. I will tell you this, if the Giants walk out of their draft room with these five players in tow, I'll run naked down 6th Avenue......

Round One (19): Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State:?Smart teams like the Giants, Steelers and Ravens always end up getting a prospect who falls during the draft. Teams constantly selecting in the top 15 are stupid, so intelligent front offices take advantage of their dumb decisions on Draft Day. One player who's probably going to drop is Bjoern Werner. He did not perform as well as expected at the Combine, showing much less athleticism than 2008's Chris Long, whom he's been compared to.

Giant fans know that general manager Jerry Reese loves drafting pass-rushers. With Osi Umenyiora entering free agency this March and Justin Tuck having a down year, Reese may select a defensive end early this April.
