NFL Retirees NFL

A group of retired NFL players filed a suit?against the league and its players?in a Minneapolis federal court?Monday night,?claiming to have been?excluded from the negotiating sessions that have taken place during the lockout.

The retired players are asking U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson to end the mediation she ordered and allow them to return to the bargaining table. The suit claims that current players should not be allowed to bargain on behalf of the retired players. The retired players accuse the owners and players of pushing them aside in an attempt to maximize their profits.

"Through the settlement they are forging, the Brady plaintiffs, the NFLPA and the NFL defendants are conspiring to set retiree benefits and pension levels at artificially low levels," the complaint states.
