Former Giants great DE Michael Strahan will be one of seven new members inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame tonight. Strahan, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection who played all of his 15 NFL seasons with Big Blue, was voted in earlier this year in his second year of eligibility.

Strahan began his career with the Giants as a second-round draft pick in 1993, Lawrence Taylor and Phil Simms' last season, and ended it with a Super Bowl championship in 2008.

According to Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record (who is in Canton this weekend for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony), Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will be joined by several members of the Mara family in a show of support for former Giants head coach Bill Parcells, who is a member of this year's HOF class....

Team president and co-owner John Mara told The Record that his mother and Coughlin would be among those on a private plane scheduled to leave?Teterboro?Airport immediately following Giants' practice that afternoon.

"We'll give Tom some time to shower," John Mara said with a laugh. "As far as my mother, I asked her the other day if she wanted to go and she said, 'Of course.'

I'm a little bittersweet about yesterday's Hall of Fame announcements, but like any subjective process, it's not perfect. Former Giant coach Bill Parcells made it in while DE Michael Strahan did not.

Congrats to Bill. No worries for Michael, who had to be disappointed, but think of the upside: He can gain election next year when the Super Bowl is held here.

Is Eli Manning a Hall of Famer?

I know, such a silly argument. Considering Eli Manning will play at least six more seasons, and already has two Super Bowl MVPs on his mantle, this is a topic to tackle when you're bored. Eli has a lot of football left and plenty of records to rewrite along with accolades to collect. Another Super Bowl win would surely seal it for him, too.

Former teammate and ESPN studio analyst Tim Hasselbeck discusses whether Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer.

We're gonna take a page out FOX News' book and say on this next topic: We report, you decide.

FOXSports.com columnist Jason Whitlock writes that Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin is not Pro Football Hall of Fame fodder and his decisions last Sunday in Philadelphia sealed that:

Coughlin?s coaching cost the Giants a valuable road win. Sunday?s game demonstrated exactly why Coughlin isn?t a Hall of Fame coach. He has never built and/or guided the best team in football. He?s coached two teams that have backed into the playoffs and gotten hot at the right time. Coughlin?s resume pales in comparison to Jimmy Johnson, Tom Flores, Mike Shanahan and George Seifert. Johnson, Flores, Seifert and Shanahan ? all two-time Super Bowl winners ? are not in the Hall of Fame. In fact there?s only one two-time-winning, two-time-appearing Super Bowl coach in Canton. Vince Lombardi.

Bill Parcells, the man responsible for resurrecting several NFL franchises - including this year's two Super Bowl participants - was shunned by Pro Football Hall of Fame voters today.

This year's inductees are: center Dermontti Dawson, defensive end/linebacker Chris Doleman, defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, running back Curtis Martin, tackle Willie Roaf and veteran selection Jack Butler, who played cornerback for the Steelers in the 1950's.

Both the Giants' Tom Coughlin and New England's Bill Belichick are direct descendants of Parcells' coaching tree. ?Both men had high praise for their old boss this week.

"Good Guy" Feagles May Get Long-Awaited Distinction

The NFL has had some great punters. In the 1970's there was Raiders' Ray Guy, who could boot the ball to the moon. He is considered the forerunner of all things punting in this league, and is the odds-on favorite to become the first punter to earn enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Except, it hasn't happened yet.

Guy has been eligible for enshrinement since 1991 but has never garnered enough votes to gain entrance. The collective school of thought is that if Guy does not make the Hall of Fame, then no punter should.
