Adam Clendening was the third star in last night's Rangers win over the Islanders with 2 assists in 20:19.
Clendening had one shot on goal, one shot attempt blocked, 1 that missed the net, 1 hit and 1 giveaway.
He played 15:23 at even strength, 2:38 on the PP, 2:18 on the PK and 6 minutes in the first, 8:28 in the second and 5:51 in the third.
After the game he said that his role is to move the puck and create offense and he thinks he did a "pretty good job" of that against the Islanders. (Rangers Game Notes)
He says that he is very comfortable playing on the PP and that all he wants to do is "move the puck, move your feet and keep it simple." (Rangers Game Notes)

Adam Rotter: It was one preseason game but Clendening showed some flashes of why he was a highly thought of prospect for a time. He's still young, turns 24 in October, and seems to have good offensive instincts that the Rangers could certainly use on the back end. There is a lot more that Clendening has to do to earn a spot, at least a regular spot, but there is definitely an opening for that kind of player on the Rangers.
