Staal said that he is getting more comfortable with each shift and understanding the tendencies of his teammates on the ice. (MSG)
Derek Stepan said that Staal is getting more comfortable and "finding his game." (MSG)
Before Sunday's game, Alain Vigneault said of Staal "I think he is getting better, his last game was probably his best at both ends of the rink, he is very competitive. You expect some time to get used to the new environment and as we move forward it's only going to get better. Big body, we needed that at both ends of the rink as far as protecting the puck and getting it back quicker." (NYR)
