Lundqvist spoke on MSG and said:
- "I'm so tired.....phew...it was an intense game. I am glad that we took the time out to give us some extra rest. It's a warm building to play in so you sweat a lot. Legs cramping and so intense, it was a great game and back and forth and they came hard tonight and played really well. We scored the fourth one and I knew that if they got one the building would get going and they would get going and sure enough they got the second one and the game turned from them not having any life at all to just being all over us. We found a way and we are going to game seven."
- On the PK, "you need determination and awareness and they move the puck really well. The guys came up with some huge blocks at the right time and they are skilled and you need to be on top of your game and especially with three minutes left you have to keep your cool. You can't be ahead of yourself or overreact to things you have to stay in the moment and do your job and I thought we did a good job. It wasn't perfect, it was mayhem and you try to do whatever you can to force another game and we found a way."
- On the game being more offensive minded, "two teams wanted to win this game for different reasons. They don't want to go back to NY and we do to get another opportunity. I thought the first period was probably the best of the series, a lot of chances both ways. The second goal was big obviously to kind of kill their life a bit that late in the period. Guys really stepped up tonight and we should be proud of our effort to come in here with everything on the line."
- On going into game seven, "I never really think about the past, this series or last year and a lot of people talk about what we did in the past. It's a new year and new series and new everything you just try to be in that mood and prepare the same way always and try and play your best.
