The Rangers' journey back to the postseason begins with the team facing an uphill battle, as far as odds are concerned, with Odds Shark pegging New York at +4000.

The Rangers last made the playoffs at the end of the 2016-17 campaign, downing the Montreal Canadiens before falling in the conference semifinals to the Ottawa Senators.
The last trip to the postseason ended a seven-year run that started in 2010-11, including 2013-14 when the Rangers made the Stanley Cup Final but lost to the Los Angeles Kings.
The Rangers whiffed on the 2018-19 postseason after going 32-26-14 and finishing seventh in the NHL's Metropolitan Division under first-year head coach David Quinn.
