On MSG, Brian Leetch said of Talbot, "In the limited amount of time, less than 30 games, his numbers are outstanding. He is like Hank in that there is a confidence in the net, it's nice to see your goalie make the saves and cover the rebounds."
He added, "when a goalie gets shutout he definitely earns it. He had to make some saves, but I look at this and he will probably say that it was a team shutout."
On MSG, Talbot said:
- On the shutouts, "I don't know if I can take any credit for the one tonight, the guys played incredible in front of me. I don't know how many quality scoring they had, everything form in close we boxed out and we made some big blocks to preserve the win."
- On being comfortable out there, "There is always an edge, you can't take any time off. In a 1-0 game, gotta stop the next shot or it's a tie game. The guys, I think maybe we let up 4 shots in the third and maybe one good chance from the slot, we didn't give them much, the guys played unreal in front of me."
- "I knew that they fight to get to get to the dirty areas and that if I left any rebounds they were going to fight to put them in. I just tried to stay positionally sound and control the rebounds whenever I could and if I left one there the guys cleared them out for me."
- On doing his own version of the wine lottery, "I don't yet but the guys are on me so I have to come up with something pretty soon."
